� w <br /> � t <br /> Minutes of the Meeting <br /> of the Mashpee Housing Authority <br /> Board of Commissioners <br /> July 1 , 1995 <br /> The meeting of the Mashpee Housing Authority Board of Commissioners was called to order at <br /> 7:12 p.m.and a quorum delcared with the following members present: Stu Peoples,Antoinette <br /> Brooks and Karen Rudd. Also in attendance were Carolyn A. Reed, Executive Director;Thomas <br /> Joy,Fee Account; residents/members of Homeyer Village Tuts Association--Lois Bartel, <br /> Theresa BariL Grace Carew and William,Hansen;and, Constance Mills and James Coag, <br /> candidates for Board of Conunissioner consideration. <br /> A motion was made by Ms.Rudd and se onded by Mrs.Brooks to accept the minutes of the <br /> meeting held on June 8, 1995 with the following correction. "A motion was made by Ms. Rudd <br /> and seconded by Mrs.Brooks to allover the Executive Director to select/negotiate the fee <br /> accountant contract with another firm, if so desired. The motion carried." <br /> Ms.Reed advised the Board that the relationship with the current fee accountant seems to <br /> working fine. He has made himself available,therefore,unless there is-.a problem'an; heI fUtiIi ,-,- S <br /> she would like to continue working with the current fee accountant. <br /> By concensus, the Chairman changed the agenda order to allow for interviews of potential Board <br /> members. The following individuals were interviewed: <br /> James Long--Resident of Mashpee,is currently the Director of the Council On Aging, Senior <br /> Citizens Center;has multiple involvements in the community and is especially interested and <br /> concerned with affordable senior housing. Mr. ong has sat on a number of policy making hoards <br /> and understands the role of conimissioners. He has a background in business and has vast <br /> experience in g, orcin , etc. <br /> Constance Mills—Resident of Mashpee, with background in human services. Has knowledge of <br /> various housing programs,specifically Chapter 689. <br /> i quer regarding the role of a commissioner,Mrs.Brooks reminded <br /> In response to Ms.Mills <br /> individuals thsat membership on the Board sloes not require a lot of time but one must be willing <br /> to made a coo ittment to attend meetings and be involved, <br /> Mr.Long and M .Mills were advised of the process for appointing conmissioners and informed <br /> that the Board of Conunissioners.would be making their recommendation to the Mashpee <br /> Selectmen for joint appointment on Monday,July 24, 1935 and will be contacted shorty <br /> r <br /> t thereafter. <br /> TR ASUREWS REPORT: <br /> • <br /> As of the following balances are on hand; <br /> 4000 . $69096.46 <br /> Section 8 16,947,91 (includes transfer from savings account--June, 1995) <br /> MRVP 11940-32 <br /> Ms.Rudd requested that in the future this information be provided in writing. <br />
