Communication from Habitat for Humanity--this Board agreed to support and endorse activity of Habitat, <br /> which may include petitioning the Town at the October Town.Meeting t -transfer land to the Housing <br /> Authority and the Authority transferring same to Habitat for.Humanity. Ms.. ermino suggested we <br /> approached the Town with regard to unknown.owners property on the tax roll and explore the possibility <br /> of obtaining some of that property. <br /> Letter from Shawme Heights requesting endorsement of their application to HUD for Section 242 <br /> Supportive Housing for the Elderly. The Board agreed-to submit a letter of endorsement and suggest that <br /> units be set aside-for Mashpee residents. <br /> The Director will be required to appear as beeper of the records for the ongoing litigation--Johnson vs. <br /> Mashpce Housing Authority. This case will probably be beard on July 1 , 1997. <br /> TENANT'S ASSOCIATION: <br /> Cheryl Burke introduced the newly elected officers of the Tenan-Vs Association and advised the.Board that <br /> they look forward to working with the Director and the Board of Commissioners. <br /> OTHER BUSINESS: <br /> Mrs.Miiis reported that she has been in contact with Barbara Boro who advised her that she.has been in <br /> contact with two agencies who may be interested in working with DNM and the Housing Authority to <br /> work on the 689 development. Its.Boro will be leaving DNM and the individual replacing her will b <br /> contacted in an effort to get the application completed and forwarded to DISCI . <br /> Executive.director's Evaluation—Ms.Rudd and Mx. Peopleas will be meeting with Ms. Reed to begin the <br /> evaluation process. <br /> ELECTION OF OFFICERS: <br /> The floor was open for nomination of officers. A motion was made by Ms.Mills and seconded by Ms. <br /> Younger nominating Karen Rudd for the office of Cbairperson. The motion carried. <br /> motion was made by Ms. Rudd and seconded by Ms.Younger nominating Constance Mills for the <br /> office of Vice- hai.rperson. The motion carried. <br /> A motion was made by Ms..Rudd and seconded by Ms. Younger nominating Stu Peoples for the office of <br /> Treasurer. The motion carried. <br /> motion was made by Mrs.Mills and seconded by Ms.Rudd nominating Marie Younger for the office of <br /> Assistant Treasurer. The motion errld. <br /> motion was made by Ms.Mills and seconded by Ifs.Rudd directing the Secretary to cast a imanirnous <br /> ballot for the slate officers as nominated. The motion carried. <br /> Congratulations were extended to the new officers. M . Rudd suggested that new Board members not sign <br /> checks for a couple of months until they familiarize themselves with activities of the Authority. <br /> Ms.Rudd suggested Board members to think about change of meeting tirne and provide feedback at the <br /> next:meeting. <br /> Next meeting will be held Thursday, July 10, 1997. There being no farther business to come before this <br /> Board, a motion was niade by.M . Younger and seconded by Ms.Mills to adjoin. The motion earned. <br />
