i <br />.;s <br /> Minutes of the Meeting <br /> MASE HOUSING AUTHORITY <br /> Board of Commissioners <br /> June 13, 2002 <br /> The meeting was called to order by the chairperson at 5:31 p'-m. and a quorum declared wit <br /> the following members present: Lord Finton, E. Stuart peoples, La erne Williams, Dan <br /> Heer, and David Harsch. Also In attendance was Leila Botsford, Executive Director, <br /> Jonathan Juhl from The Community Builders and Edwards Nunes for Dunes Trabuc o <br /> Architects. <br /> The Chairperson welcomed the new board members, Mr. Horneyer and Mr, Harsch, and <br /> conducted introductions. Ms, Proton then announced that the minutes and Treasurer"s Report <br /> would be tabled for later in the meeting. <br /> 1EXECUTIVE DIRECTOWS REPORT: <br /> Mrs,, Botsford stated that she had railed her report to the board for the month of May and it i <br /> attached to these minutes as AtUgAmen <br /> Mrs. Botsford asked if there were any questions about her report, There being none, she <br /> added the following report* <br /> Paul Antil, our maintenance roan, had an injury to his right ring-finger which required <br /> about 13 stitches. Mrs, Botsford has been wrortng with the insurance company with <br /> regards to getting the medical bills paid. Paul did not lose any tine from work and is <br /> not submitting a workmen's comp. claire. <br /> DHCD has not released budget guidelines for FY 2003 yet. This means that we will be <br /> submitting our budget late this year. <br /> irs. Botsford stated that she has applied for a grant for Technical Assistance with Mass. <br /> Housing Partnership Fund, and met with there regarding our application. This grant <br /> would pay for assistance in formulating a development plan for the unused 705 property <br /> (Breezy Acres), assistance in researching funding resources, and helping to educate her <br /> on the development process, We should hear from their soon. <br /> Tomorrow hers. Botsford will be meeting with Stuart Bornstein and Richard Terry <br /> (member of the planning board) about a possible donation to the housing authority or <br /> r ashpee Affordable Housing Trust,, <br /> Mrs, Botsford has signed up to take a course for American Sign Language. The course, <br /> which is free, will take place on Wednesdays,, and is expected to last about 16 weeks. <br /> The Executive Director of the canton Housing Authority is teaching it; <br /> Mrs. Botsford stated that due to changes expected soon in her husbands employment, <br /> she has needed W sign up for health insurance benefits through the Group Insurance <br /> Commission during its open enrollment period for coverage to Mart July 1. she has <br /> spoken to DHCD regarding this and has been told to request an exemption for the cost <br /> when we submit our budget and that it should not be a problem. <br /> Next Monday, we are having a potluck resident luncheon to express our appreciation to <br /> Sohn Wilcox for his many gears of landscaping here at Hoy eyer Village. Mrs. Botsford <br /> would like the board's permission to issue a stipend check W John to showy the lousing <br /> authority's appreciation for his landscaping services. For over ten years, he has saved <br /> us a lot of money in landscaping costs and has added many bushes and plants W the <br /> Pae 1 of <br />
