ford, Secre ryL utoivs
Director
Attachment A:
Executive Director's Report
For the month of January 2006
Program update:
Homever Village/667: We had all rents paid in full. We still have two units that we are
preparing for new tenants. One unit is expected to be moved into on February 1. That unit will
then be occupied by another Homeyer Village resident who is transferring to the wheelchair
accessible unit. That resident's unit will then need to be turned over. The tenant we had
selected for the other vacant unit turned it down, so we are back in the process of tenant
selection. I am hoping that unit will be filled during the week after I return from vacation. I
have one Homeyer Village resident who I discovered had a substantial income that was not
reported to the housing authority. Per regulation the housing authority can charge rent
retroactively to when the resident should have reported it, plus interest. This income, however,
is very sizable and not reporting it is considered fraud. I have spoken to Attorney Grace about
the case, and I have schedule a formal conference with the resident for February 2.
Breezy Acres/705: We had all rents paid in full and we are at 100% occupancy.
Meetinos attended: I attended the SHADO (Small Housing Authority Directors Organization)
meeting, the WHCTF (Women's Health Care Task Force) meeting, and th SMEDA (Southeastern
Mass. Executive Director's Association) meeting. I attended the Public Hearing conducted by
the town's CPA (Community Preservation Act) Committee and the Selectmen's meeting. I also
met again with Mashpee Commons, Louise Patrick, and Christine Johnson-Staub.
MISC•
• •The monthly MRVP/AHVP/DMH reports were submitted.
• The monthly Energy Consumption reports were submitted.
• I have placed an advertisement in the local papers for a temporary/part-time
maintenance person to handle maintenance while Bob Noelte is off for the month of
March. I hope to have the person selected to fill this position by February 17.
• I have not yet heard from the town regarding our request that they waive our P.I.L.O.T.
(Payment in Lieu of Taxes) this year. I sent out another letter.
• Annual Recertifications are almost done for all Homeyer Village and Breezy Acres
residents. Lease renewal documents will be all sent out before February 14, 2006.
AHVP Vouchers: We have 1 AHVP voucher.
MRVP Vouchers (Mobile): Currently we have 11 voucher holders in Mashpee.
MRVP Project Based Vouchers: We currently have 37 PB Vouchers leased.
DHM Program: We currently have 3 leased.
Section 8: We currently have 22 Housing Choice Vouchers leased in Mashpee.
