Fish and Wildlife , to Mashpee Conservation <br /> Conunission in response to the letter from S. Bliven regarding the water level management plan. <br /> — 5/27/98 memo to the Committee from D. Dann regarding annual appointments. <br /> j <br /> 2/18/99 letter from the Conunittee to Selectmen regarding Coffee membership. <br /> ld Ines <br /> Jinn Hanks, chairman of Mashpee Waterways Comnuttee was invited to describe regulations on water use <br /> f Mashpe 4Wakeby Pond. He explained that as a `great pond' water use can only be regulated by the <br /> State. The chair distributed Mass. Regulations on waterways(3 23 CMR and Mashpee Fond Boat <br /> Landing Regulations. Jim explained that any regulations specific to Mashpee- akeb Pond need to be <br /> proposed to the State. If the State decided to promulgate such regulations, they coup be enforced by the <br /> Mate and Town. The only other pond in the state with specific regulations is Webster Lake. Jim <br /> suggested that the Committee review the Webster Lake regulations as a start for proposing regulations for <br /> Mashpee-Wakeby Pond. The Committee approved a motion to put review of Webster Lake regulations on <br /> the agenda for the March meeting. <br /> Lake levels were described as high,but approximately normal for late winter. Mr. Cadrin reported that <br /> Cher was not a water level guage at the darn. The Committee agreed that a guage would help monitor <br /> water levels, and could be calibrated by the most recently engineered flock on the Pond. <br /> New Business <br /> The chair requested that mutes be delivered to hirn in advance of meetings to set agendas. <br /> &djourmnent <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 8:I pm. <br /> Submitted on 314199. <br />
