MASUPEE - WAKEBY LAKE AGEMENT CO.NMTTEE MINUTES OF THE MEETING of JULY 2711.999 The regular meeting of the Mashpee - wak by Lake Management Committee was called to order by the Chairman, William Marsters at 7:40 PM. In addition to Mr. Marsters those members present were the vice Chairman, William Taylor and member, George Bingham 111. This provided a quorum. There were no comments from the public. On a motion made and seconded, the minutes for the meetings of May 25th. 1399' and June 22, 1999 were accepted as vnitten. Mr. Marsters distributed copies of a letter from Robert L. hritenour, Jr., Executive Secretary, Town of Mashpee, to John Doane, Superintendent, Cape Cod Mosquito Control District and dated June 24, 1998. The Cape Cod Mosquito Control personnel cleaned out the spillway at the Mashpee - wakeby Ilam in the spring of 1998 and the letter requests that they continue to do so. In the letter Mr. v hritenour mentions that the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Management ent has suggested that the optimum time for a preventive maintenance clean out of the spillway is in March and August of each year. Mr. Marsters will follow up to see if Mosquito Control did clean out the spillway in March ofthis year. He will also make sure that Mosquito Control is planning to do a August clean out and request that he be notified when it will take place so that he can see the condition of the spillway. Mr. Marsters advised the members that a plume fTorn Camp Edwards had been detected at Pickerel Cove on Wakeby Lake. we will need to keep track of this plurne and see what effect it has on the Mashpee - wak by Lake as well as the Mashpee Diver. There being no further agenda items the meeting was adjourned at 8:40 PVI. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 24, 1993 at 7:30 PM at the Mashpee Town Hall in meeting room#3.
