Corrunonwealth of Massachusetts
Massachusetts Environmental Police
Headquarters (617) 626-1650
251 Causeway St., Suite 101, Boston, MA 02114-2153 Fax: (617) 626-1670
Richard A. Murray, Director
September 10, 2001
Mr. William Marsters
Mashpee-Wakeby Lake Management Committee
16 Great Neck Road North
Mashpee, MA 02649
Dear Mr. Marsters,
I have enclosed a copy of my response to Mr. Joyce Mason, Acting Town
Administrator for the Town of Mashpee, who corresponded with me or,behalf of the
Board of Selectman in the matter involving the PWC/swimmer accident. Her request of
me is very similar to yours and I have taken the liberty of using my response to her as the
means of addressing your concerns in this same matter.
As has been our practice in the past, we will meet with Mr. Jim Hanks and the
Town Administrator early this fall and formulate a plan that can be in place prior to next
boating season. You may certainly join us in this effort. I will make sure that you are
notified of the time and location.
I trust this response is sufficient but remain available at 617-626-1650 should you
need to contact me.
Thank you for your interest in preserving a safe boating/swimming environment.
Sincerely,
9'A -
Richard A urray
Director
RAM/nw/marsters mashpee
j An Agency,of the Department of Fisheries, Wildlife & Environmental Law Enforcement
David M.
