We support their efforts and agree that the Mashpee Harbor Master needs
your assistance in dealing with this issue.
At this time the Harbor Master, because of budget limitations, is understaffed and unable
to maintain a strong presence on the lake. They also don't hold State tickets and are only
able to issue warnings to violators, which to date have been ineffective at lowering the
occurrence of violations.
The Mashpee-Wakeby Lake Management Committee makes three requests in their letter
that will enable more effective management of the current rules and regulations for
Mashpee-Wakeby Lake.
1) Provide Mashpee Harbor Masters with State tickets that can be issued to
violators of the current rules and regulations regarding these watercrafts.
2) Provide personnel, assigned by the State, to assist with patrolling the lake
activity.
3) Provide increased allocation of funding to be used to promote more effective
enforcement of the current rules and regulations.
Printed on Recycled Paper
