t <br /> MASHPEE-WAKEBY LAKE MANAGEMENT MENT COMWTTEE <br /> Minutes of July 23, 2002 Meeting <br /> Member Present: William Marsters, William Taylor, Steve Cadrin, George Bingham, <br /> Hans Fritschi <br /> Also Present: Sally and Edward Syriala <br /> The meeting was called to order at :00 PM. The chair reported that the Town dxd not <br /> have the necessary funding to provide a recording secretary for fixture Committee <br /> meetings. <br /> The Committee discussed the dry conditions and agreed that the water level was below <br /> average. It was noted that boards remained in the dam and here was lime flow to the <br /> herring run. <br /> Committee newsletters were mailed to all Mashpee lakeshore residents and extra copies <br /> will be distributed at the boat ramp. The Committee meed that the newsletter was well <br /> done and continued to be an effective program. <br /> Signs for the boat ramp were discussed. It was reported that the Town will print signs <br /> that list boating regulations. The final text drafted by the Waterways Commission <br /> requires.approval from the State. The need for appropriate signs for parking fees was <br /> mentioned. It was also noted that the latrines at the boat ramp, operated by Leisure <br /> Services,were not being properly maintained. <br /> Committee members noted that some bass fishing tournaments were starting earlier than <br /> allowed. T"he topic o invasive species was also discussed, is developing a <br /> program to sample lakes for baseline ecological data and monitor lakes for Masive <br /> species.
