[Agenda topic ] Newsletter..online version
Discussion: Barbara sent a second copy of the Fall newsletter to Joyce Mason and again requested her
help on getting it onto the Town web site. It appeared on the front page of the web site a few days later.
Ed Baker felt it should he linked to our committee on the' 'own Committee page, like the Waterways page
of information and links. He suggested we contact Joyce to see if this committee could have a pass word
to put things on our page after she OK's the entries.
Conclusions. The newsletter has been added to the-front page of the Town web site, but is not linked nth
our committee listing.
[Agenda topic ] MW Lake Water quality'
Discussion: Barbara emailed Rick York on October 28 and asked if he would come over and identify the
" reen scum"in the pond. He wrote back that he would when he had time, but there has been no further
contact. The algae have since disappeared with the cooler temperatures and gave action. The 2007 data
for the five Mash ee Ponds is now on the MEC web site., Barbara., who does the water quality te'stin for
Mashpee Fond, shoved the 7 pages.of data for Mashpee. Both I shpee and Wakeby remain in the
mesotrophi c range. Wakehy has more phosphorus than Mashpee .There is little change in the.numbers
from the previous year. MEC now has 6 gears of data on the ponds.
Ed also gave a plug to our committee in the write up of Mashpee P.ond.
Ed also got an article in the November lothedition of the Mashpee Enterprise on Neater quality in the
Mashpee ponds.
Conclusions: Mashpee and Wak by Ponds remain in the mesotrophic range
[Agenda topic 5] Spring Meting
Discussion: Barbara asked if Bill Taylor could contact Perry Ellis about setting up the spring meeting with
Perry, Lt. Read, the Bnvirorunental Police officer. And our committee. Would April 28th.he a good date
for the meeting, and who should invite the Environmental Police officer? Would Assistant I arbonnasters
attend? Perry Ellis had suggested having this meeting when we met last July.
Conclusions- It is hoped that a spring meeting can be arranged nth the Harbormaster,Environmental
Police and our con n ittee. .
The meeting adjourned at 8:20 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Barbara B. Nichols
