Get a survey and site plan. With concrete facts in hand, it can be determined whether <br /> the existing library can be saved during construction, avoiding relocation. If so, then with <br /> some tweaking by the architects, we will attempt to fit the new library to the site. <br /> Do a presentation to the Selectmen in I y/Jure '04 timeframe, and go for the October <br /> warrant. <br /> John Renz will contact the architects as to whether they can do a survey, and also ask their <br /> opinion as to whether their design-can be made to fit the site. John will also work on getting cost <br /> estimates for utilities for the new building. <br /> Bonnie Barrett will contact Joyce Mason to determine the optimum timing i.e., what year) for a <br /> library bond, Sheldon Gilbert questioned whether it was a choice.by the Town to limit the amount <br /> of bonding based on policy of the Town, or whether the Town was restricted, based on a law <br /> which limits requests for capital.projects beyond a certain amount of heir assessed valuation. <br /> Bonnie will follow up with Joyce on this issue. <br /> FUNDRAISING/FORUM REPO S". Tom O'Neill indicated that he had nothing new to report <br /> since the last committee meeting. He is still investigating the proper procedure to follow for <br /> attaching a donor name to a room or a paft of the library. <br /> COMMUNICATION ISSUES. Bonnie reminded the committee to be aware that anything that i <br /> said or done as a library committee.member speaks for the whole committee and should be <br /> confirmed by the committee beforehand. <br /> oTHE BUSS ESS. It was suggested,that a committee stags report be provided to the <br /> Selectmen. The idea will be discussed further at the next committee meeting. <br /> Bonnie reminded the committee that she would be away from February I I th through the end of <br /> March. Sheldon Gilbert will act as chairperson in February but will be away in March. Therefore, <br /> an acting chairperson will need to be appointed for the month of March. <br /> The ret meeting of the Library Building Committee was set for Tuesday, 02103/04 at the <br /> Mshpee Library, at 7:00 PI 1.
