Because <br /> a large water supply is needed, room is required to maneuver sizable fire apparatus. <br /> Mr. Govoni informed the Board that he discussed granting of variances on unpaved road <br /> with Deputy Fire Chief Hamblin. Mr. Hamblin's recommendation is to require new <br /> construction on unpaved roads to install a sprinkler system in the home. <br /> Mr. Nelson advised Mr. Hansen to request that the DPW repair the problems of the large <br /> potholes at the entrance of Blue Castle Drive in order to facilitate access for emergency <br /> vehicles. <br /> A resident questioned if all new homes will be required to install sprinkler systems, Mr. <br /> Govoni informed the audience that the Fire Department will eliminate the requirement <br /> that the road be of a hard surface with fire hydrants if protection is provided with the <br /> installation of a sprinkler system.
