Board of Appeals Minutes - August 12, 1998 6, <br /> Ms, Gildea submitted a letter objecting to the fact that the Conservation Commission had <br /> a meeting without the applicants or representation present. <br /> Mr, Nelson moved to continue the request for variances contingent to seeking a joint <br /> meeting with the Conservation Commission to resolve the issues in question. Mr, Dorgan <br /> seconded. All agreed. Mr. Regan asked for a three-minute recess. <br /> Can inued Hearings: <br /> Brickyard Marketplace Nomsrlee Trust-Requests a Variance from Sections 174-11 and <br /> 174-31 of the Zoning By-laws for permission to vary the setback requirements on <br /> properties located in C-2 and R-5 zoning districts at 93 Old Brickyard Road (Map 72, <br /> Block 22) and 439 Nathan Ellis Highway(Map 72, Block 23)Mashpee, MA. (Owner of <br /> record: Henry C. Nelson, <br /> I <br /> Mr. Grotzke represented the applicant with modified plans reducing the number of <br /> driveways, installing a five-foot white pine hedge fence in the back to provide a visual <br /> barrier and moving the septic system to the front of the lot, <br /> Louise and Steven Berish were present, <br /> i <br /> David Hendrick contacted the abutters for their input and suggestions. Mr, Regan read <br /> letters from the Labute and Shute families. Greg Taylor from DPW submitted a memo <br /> regarding the condition of the private roads. Town Planner Mr. laudala submitted a memo <br /> suggesting the removal of 18 additional parking spaces. Mr. Labute, an abutter, remarked <br /> that a fence installed in back would be advisable, as well as moving the septic system to <br /> the front. Mrs. Labute submitted pictures with garbage generated from Dunkin Donuts, <br /> Andy's Market and Cherrystones Restaurant strewn all over the abutters' yards. Mr. <br /> [' Shute, an abutter, voiced concern with trucks being too large to turn around on the <br /> narrow streets of Massasoit and Sassacus and going down residential areas where children <br /> play. <br /> The following recommendations were made by the Board and abutters: <br /> 1. a seven-foot screen fence, in addition to the hedge, be installed. <br /> 2. no parking signs be posted on Sassacus, Old Brickyard and Massasoit Streets. <br /> 3. right-turn only signs be installed. <br /> 4. working with the Police Department to insure compliance with posted signs. <br />
