OFFICE 1:00 PM Minutes of the Meeting of Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 Committee Members Present: Member Absent: Also Present: Ruth Elias, Chairman Veronica Darden Gail Wilson, Human Svcs Coordinator Janice S alford, Vice Chairman Virginia Thomas, Collaborative Elinor G lever, Clerk Research Consultant - James Long Mary Scanlan John Cahalane Gus Frederick Kathy Mohler-Faris James Long CALL To ORDER Chairman Ruth Elias called the meeting to order at 1:15 ISM. REVIEW of MINUTES Elinor Glener made a motion that the minutes from the meeting of 10/18/12 be approved as presented. Janice Walford seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. NEW BUSINESS ■ Human services Budget for 2014 Gail Wilson distributed copies of the proposed 2014 budget for the Hunan Services Department. Elinor Glener questioned the significant disparity in the lower amount of the budget compared to the 2013 budget. Gail Wilson stated that because there will be no rent expense for the Human Services- office space going forward, additional funds have become available, and any new expenses will be covered as a result. The committee agreed that the proposed budget was a realistic picture. Thanks for Giving Award Mary Scanlan made a motion that the Thanks for Giving Aware be presented posthumously to Vye Larkin. Fruth Elias seconded the motion. The nation was unanirnousy approved. The award program was scheduled for Friday, January 18, 2013 from I 1 AM to 12:30 PM at Mashpee Town Hall, in the Board of Selectmen's Meeting Rooms 1 and 2. John Cahalane will confirm Frith Mr. Larkin his avaiiability to be present at the meeting on January ��, 2013, • ,James Long Retirement Announcement James Long announced his retirement from his position as Director of the Mashpee Senior Center, as of January 25, 2013. Lynne Waterman has been appointed as Interim Director. 1
