.r' <br /> Earl lilies that idea. <br /> Torn said a few years ago there were a series of slide show on the history of the town, we could try to <br /> incorporate that also. <br /> The Committee should establish ubcornmittees7 one to work on public outreach and the other for <br /> technical issues. <br /> Earl said in town, there is no monument to our people, except for the homes that remain. <br /> At the old town hall there was al ays a bulletin board announcing meetings and upcoming events. <br /> There was another one in South Mashpee and on Seconssett island. That is historic, there should be <br /> a plaque at those sites. <br /> Earl's mothers house was at one time the town offices, that should be acknowledged. These places <br /> are very much a part of the history, People who currently live in the community will want to be able <br /> to see these historic sites and.show there off to visitors. This town is unique and we want to keep it <br /> that way. <br /> Earl also suggested doing;a walking tour of the district. <br /> Press Releases- at some point they will be used to explain what the Committee is doing. They can be <br /> generated from Tom's office. <br /> Earl agreed to be the subcommittee for outreach. He Nvill talk to Joanne Ferragamo about putting <br /> together a slide show. <br /> The representative from. the Enter 'se said the paper was running old photos of Mashpce residents <br /> and askincy who are these people.j When the Committee is ready} they can feature some of the lesser <br /> know historip sites and show photos of now and then with a description.. <br /> Morgan Peters joined the meeting. Joe told hire.this Committee was counting on that new building <br /> at Heritage park and.the Selectmen threw it out for parking. <br /> Morgan explained this new site is the one they originally wanted. He mentioned that there are grave <br /> sites in the tree grove at this site (next to town.hall). The Tribal Council is looping into a memorial <br /> for those buried there. <br /> Torn said the Historic Commission did not know about the grave sites. <br /> Morgan Peters was told by Mrs. Costa(who formally owned the property)that her grandmother, <br /> great grand mother and great aunts and uncles were buried there. TO' m will pass the information on <br /> the Historic Commission. <br /> Morgan will be on Earl's subcommittee. <br /> Morgan explained while their are raising money to construct the theater they would like to do arts and <br /> cultural activities at the site. <br /> Torn explained the Selectmen received Jack McGee"s resignation as Association member of this <br /> Committee. <br /> Torn will try one more time to ask the Board of Realtors to send a representative to this Committee. <br /> 3 <br />
