TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> Board of Appeals <br /> Minutes <br /> Wednesday, November 18, 1992 <br /> The Mashpee Board of Appeals held a meeting at 7 : 30 P. M . <br /> on Wednesday, November 18, 1992 at the Mashpee Town Hall . <br /> Board members present and acting throughout were : John J . <br /> Friel , Michael A . Makunas, Edward M . Govoni, Arnold D. <br /> Mindick and Jamie Regan . Building Inspector William F. Hauck <br /> was in attendance . <br /> Stanley and Mindy S . Wachtenheim - Request a Special <br /> Permit under Section 174-25 . 1 . 9 of the Zoning By- laws for <br /> permission to construct a pier, ramp and float in an R-3 <br /> zoning district on property located at 78 Popponesset Island <br /> Road ( Map 106, Block 30 ) Mashpee, MA. <br /> Stanley and Mindy S . Wachtenheim - Request a Variance <br /> from Section 174-25 . 1 . 9 of the Zoning By- laws for permission <br /> to vary the dock length of 70 ' in an R-3 zoning district on <br /> property located at 78 Popponesset Island Road (Map 106, <br /> Block 30 ) Mashpee, MA. <br /> Members sitting : J . Friel , M. Makunas, E. Govoni <br /> Attorney William Henchy, Marine Biologist Mario de <br /> Gregorio and Engineer Robert Michniewicz represented the <br /> applicant . The Board was informed that the applicant planned <br /> to build a pier, ramp and dock and wished to extend the <br /> length to provide adequate depth for use of a 17 ' whaler . <br /> Mr . Friel explained that he had been contacted by <br /> the Conservation Agent and read comments from the <br /> Conservation Commission in favor of the Variance recommending <br /> a Variance of 25 ' and allowing a 95 ' length. Mr. Michniewicz <br /> asked that the record show that receipts for certified <br /> mailings to the Shellfish Constable were presented , <br /> Mr . Govoni moved to grant the Special Permit and a <br /> Variance of 25 ' allowing for a dock length of 95 ' . Mr . <br /> Makunas seconded . All agreed . <br /> Cherrystones, Inc . - Requests a Special Permit under Section <br /> 174-25 . E. 2 for permission to construct a restaurant in a C-2 <br /> zoning district on property located at 375 Nathan Ellis <br /> Highway ( Map 72, Block 57B ) Mashpee, MA .
