TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> Minutes <br /> April 24, 1991 <br /> The Mashpee Board of Appeals held a meeting at 7:30 P.M. on <br /> Wednesday, April 24, 1991 at the Mashpee Town Hall. Board members <br /> present and acting throughout were: Cheryl A. Hawver, Chairman; <br /> Michael A. Makunas, Vice-Chairman; William J. Hanrahan, Clerk; and <br /> Associate Members John J. Friel and B. Thomas Christian. Building <br /> Inspector Douglas S. Boyd was in attendance. <br /> Edward A. and Martha M. Palank - Request a Special Permit under <br /> Section 174-17 of the Zoning By-laws for permission to expand a <br /> non-conforming structure with a front addition and second story in <br /> an R-3 zoning district on property located at 181 Daniel's Island <br /> Road (Map 1.00, Block 39) Mashpee, MA. <br /> Members sitting: C. Hawver, M. Makunas, W. Hanrahan <br /> Engineer John Slavinsky represented the applicant. He stated <br /> that plans had been approved by the Conservation Commission and the <br /> Board of Health. The applicant plans a front addition and a second <br /> story and Mr. Slavinsky said structure has been a three bedroom house <br /> and would continue to have only three bedrooms. No comments were <br /> received from abutters. <br /> Mr. Makunas moved to grant the Special Permit. Mr. Hanrahan <br /> seconded. All agreed. <br /> Elizabeth Joachim - Requests a Variance from Section 174-31 of <br /> the Zoning By-laws for permission to vary the front setback requirement <br /> for corner lots in an R-5 zoning district on property located at <br /> 4 Hillside Avenue (Map 49, Block 189) Mashpee, MA. <br /> Members sitting: C. Hawver, M. Makunas, W. Hanrahan <br /> Ms. Joachim presented plans for a proposed house on an irregularly <br /> shaped corner lot. She explained that it was difficult to place the <br /> house and septic system and maintain two front setbacks. Richard <br /> Finley, an abutter, reviewed the plan and had no objection. <br /> Mr. Hanrahan moved to grant the Variance. Mr. Makunas seconded. <br /> All agreed. <br /> Edward R. Wasil - (Advisement from April 10, 1991 meeting) <br /> Members sitting: C. Hawver, M. Makunas, W. Hanrahan <br /> Mr. Makunas moved to grant the renewal of the Special Permit <br /> to December 31, 1991 and a denial of all modifications of the 1990 <br /> i. <br /> Special Permit. Mr. Hanrahan seconded. All agreed. <br />
