4,6 <br /> MASHPEE PUBLIC SCHOOLS <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> JANUARY 13, 1999 <br /> Minutes <br /> Attendees: School Committee: Chairwoman Theresa Cook, Stephen Paxton, Maryanne <br /> Macdonald, Kathleen Lynch, and Janice Mills. Also in attendance was Int n'm <br /> Superintendent of Schools William C. MacDonald. <br /> L, Call Meeting The special meeting was called to order by Mrs. Cook at <br /> to Order 7:52 p.m. in high school conference room B103. <br /> II. FY2000 Budget Mrs. Cook introduced Mr. MacDonald onald who discussed the <br /> Discussion FY2000 budget. He informed the Committee that after many <br /> meetings and discussions with administrators and reductions <br /> totaling $369,368, he recommended a.n FY2000 budget o <br /> $141088,892. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Lynch, seconded by Mr. Paxton, to <br /> approve the budget figure of $14,088,892 for FY2000 as <br /> prepared. <br /> Discussion followed gyred with Mrs.. Cook and Mr. MacDonald both <br /> stressing the need for a Business Manager. Also, Mrs. Cook <br /> pointed out that negotiations are still on-going and the above <br /> figure does not include any negotiated contracts. Mrs. Mills <br /> said she approved of the motion but would like to review the <br /> new positions for next year, Mr. MacDonald will discuss this <br /> issue at the next roundtable. Mrs. Lynch also noted the <br /> grounds maintenance and high school cleaning bids will be <br /> going out this year and those figures are not included in the <br /> above figure. Mrs. Cooks reiterated `there are too many <br /> variables out there's and feels $14,088,892 is too low. <br /> VOTE: In favor - Mr. Paxton, FIs. Macdonald, Mrs. Lynch, <br /> and Mrs. Mills; opposed - Mrs. Cook. <br /> III. Other Mr. MacDonald updated the Committee on two bus issues as <br /> discussed at the previous rating. Since then, he has viewed <br /> the locations in question. As a result, an additional stop will <br /> be placed on dames Circle. Regarding the Seconsett Island <br /> bus stop, it was decided that the school vas will pier-up and <br />
