MASH EE PUBLIC SCHOOLS <br /> SPECIAL SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> MARCH 8. 1999 <br /> Minutes <br /> es <br /> Attendees: Chairwoman {Theresa Cool, Stephen Paxton, Maryanne Macdonald, <br /> Kathleen Lynch, and Janice Mills. Also in attendance was Massachusetts <br /> Association of school Committees M.A.S.C. Field Representative James Hardy. <br /> Meeting CaUed to Order - Mrs. Cook called the meeting ting to order at 7:02 p.m. <br /> in the Quashnet schools' Library. <br /> Mrs. Cook explained this meeting was called to discuss the process that A&U be <br /> used for site Visits, superintendent finalist interviews,yrs, and any other questions. <br /> Mr. Hardy clarified the issue with the out-of-state candidate and the need for <br /> taping the Superintendent's test. He stated that that even though <br /> Massachusetts has reciprocity with New Hampshire, the candidate will need to <br /> take the Communications and Literacy shills test. The candidate may <br /> commence his employment in Mash e, but if he fails the test, he is then <br /> terminated. <br /> Discussion followed on setting up the dates for the finalist interviews d site <br /> Visits that will be made by the school Committee members. Also, Mr. Harder <br /> addressed what focus groups and/or individuals would the Committee like to <br /> see during the site visits. <br /> Various questions that will be asked were discussed. <br /> Adjournment - Motion made by firs. Lynch, seconded by Mr. Paxton, to <br /> adjourn the special meeting at 8:42 p.m. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Marion" R.
