MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE -- REGULAR A MEETING --,LARCH 17, 1999. <br /> PAGE THREE <br /> 11; vah ' Kix' §ley; Grade ' 11; and ' - <br /> 1 Mor~f o-rd., ,Gr--ad ..h.�. .+. ,Kudos - to. art--Aeaeh rsMarcia <br /> Johnson and Marian Colman for their support and efforts. <br /> 4.6 ]DPW Snowstorm Assistance - Mrs. Cook thanked the <br /> employees -of the DPW for their efforts during the recent <br /> snowstorms with plowing out of the schools. <br /> .7 MCAs Grant -- Mrs. Cook noted that Mashpee was <br /> awarded $35,585 to pay for summer and after-school <br /> remedial programs for students who scored below average on <br /> statewide student tests. Thanks to Mr-s. Parolski for her <br /> efforts. <br /> At this point in the meeting, Mrs. Cook asked if Town Clerk <br /> Deborah Dami could address the Committee. The Committee <br /> agreed. Ms. Dani requested that with the upcoming change <br /> in channels with MediaOne the school department eo sider <br /> allowing the government channel take over channel T <br /> (educational channel). She said Channel 18 in Barnstable is <br /> their goverment channel and thought it would be beneficial <br /> to newcomers to Cape towns as well as those residents who <br /> move from town-to-town to have consistency in locating their <br /> government channels. Mrs. Cook said the school Committee <br /> would make a decision at their April 7th meeting, however, the <br /> current audio-visual l tec nician as well as the one, on a one <br /> year's leave of absence, would need to be consulted. <br /> Mrs. yneh's Concern regarded the equipment but if there <br /> were no problems with that, she would have no problems with <br /> changing channels. <br /> Mrs. Cook asked to move 9.7. "Minority Job Fair April 10, <br /> 1999 jUpper -Cape Tech) up on the agenda. The Committee <br /> agreed. <br /> Mrs. Cooly explained that the Committee, due to extreme <br /> budget constraints, had agreed to spend budget funds on only <br /> school-related expenses. This meant that participation in the <br /> { Minority ,Job Fair would be eliminated. As a result of- this <br /> decision, the Community Action Committee of Ca Cod � <br />
