r + a MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE -- REGULAR METING - OCTOBER 13, 1999 PAGE Mr. F'luery commended the high school administration for the improving student behavior at lunches. Kudos also to the elementary schools for student behavior improvement. As a result of a recent building walk-around of all schools, lir. Pluery gave an overview ofthe recent improvements completed FY98 through FY99 and current concerns for the buildings and grounds in the school district. They were as follows: Coombs School: Recent Improvements- Parking areas seam sealed, entry road patched • Rooftop make-up air units replaced 0 Improvements to interior ductwork for increased air circulation • carpeting replaced in main office and library • water heater replaced with high efficiency boiler and holding tank • Building wired for computer network Outdoor basketball court Concerns: . • All paved areas are failing, bus travel lanes are too narrow, curbig is needed to control erosion, lower parking lot was never top-coated • corridors, railings and.structural steel need painting • Replace four atmospheric boilers with two high efficiency units • Ceiling in gyne needs painting • Inside access to rooftop needed for'routine maintenance 0 High maintenance wooden playground equipment • Paint classrooms QjAashe Schools: Recent Improvements: • Main entry flooring replaced a Rooftop make-up air units replaced • Atmospheric gas boiler for hot water replaced with high efficiency unit using % reimbursement program • Corridors painted Replace carpeting with vinyl Mile in 10 classrooms • Replaced 12 rooftop exhaust fan • Building wired for computer network • Environmental air compressor replaced in bid process) • Van accessible parking added 9 Scam sealed parking lots Concerns: • vercrowding. Temporary wall system installed in the industrial arts room for three special education classrooms • Dishwasher needs replacing • corridor riles need replacing
