The Mashpee Environmental <br /> Coalition has been sampling the ponds every summer since 2011. Ed Baker was a leader for the <br /> effort, but MEC continues to conduct sampling. The results have shown that Santuit Pond was <br /> degrading but that other ponds were doing well. Ashumet Pond showed that algae was <br /> beginning to accumulate again. Mr. York will forward the electronic report. The Chair inquired <br /> about ponds near South Cape Beach and Mr. York reported that Sage Lot was doing well and <br /> that Flat Pond should receive a closer look. Mr. York stated that the program focused on the <br /> major ponds in Mashpee. <br /> Estuary Restoration/Shellfish Propagation <br /> Mr. York reported that the oyster beds would be open on November I and that there were no fish <br /> kills in the Mashpee River. Mr. York stated that 3 million quahog seed had been placed in Great <br /> River/Little River area. Mr. York stated that quahogs, and oysters all filter and function <br /> similarly. <br /> 3 <br />
