John Kabat has been in <br /> contact about state funding and has not yet identified any funding options. <br /> Mr. Schmidt questioned whether Town by-laws could mandate inspection of septic systems within 300 <br /> feet of waterways, ponds or oceans. The Chair stated that an inspection could be mandated but <br /> questioned whether a homeowner could be forced to upgrade the system. Ms. Waygan questioned <br /> plans for a survey about the quality of the septic systems in Mashpee. Ms. MacDougalI responded that <br /> the Board of Health did not receive a response in time but recommended that it be researched further. <br /> Ms. Waygan asked Ms. MacDougall to send a list of questions to be shared with the Board of Health. <br /> AECOM will be accepting comments on the draft report and have requested that comments be filtered <br /> through the Environmental Oversight Committee. Comments may be sent to Town Administration, <br /> c/o Environmental Oversight Committee. An electronic version of the presentation was requested. <br /> The Chair questioned the timing of a final report and recommended that all comments should be <br /> submitted by the end of April to be discussed at the next meeting on May 13. A final report is <br /> expected for June 1. <br /> MASHPEE BLUE BOOK <br /> Beverly Kane is in possession of 61 works of art from the schools with plans to review them with the <br /> Mashpee Environmental Committee and recommend the final contenders to the Environmental <br /> Oversight Committee. 1t was believed that the $15,000 amount to fund the document was still listed in <br /> the budget, but it will be confirmed with Joyce Mason. Ms. Waygan stated that they were not going to <br /> pursue grant opportunities until the $15,000 was confirmed. Selectman Cahalane planned to contact <br /> the Chamber of Commerce regarding the naming of the book. Mr. Baker asked that the Chair follow <br /> up with Selectman Cahalane. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Action Items <br /> Due to the lateness of the meeting, it was decided that Action Items would be reviewed at the next <br /> Environmental Oversight meeting. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Ms. Waygan announced that the Planning Board will be hosting a public hearing regarding the Rules <br /> and Regulations for the Subdivisions on May 5. Changes regarding stormwater have been <br /> incorporated and Ms. Waygan will forward the document to the Committee. <br /> The Chair announced that he will no longer be serving on the Environmental Oversight Committee and <br /> thanked everyone for their involvement and participation. Members expressed their appreciation for <br /> Selectman Myers' leadership. <br /> MEETING ADJOURNMENT <br /> Mr. Baker made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:30 p.m. Mr. York seconded the motion. <br /> All approved unanimously. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Jennife�M.
