MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR MEETING MAY , 2000 page N11. Report of the Superintendent 7.9.1 H, h School Graduation Waiver of (continued) Motion made by Mrs. Cook to approve the following Waiver Policy- A student who transfers into 1 lashpee High School as a junior or senior will be required to earn all credits as established at the time of enrollment. Any student entering, particularly after the beginning of the school year, may not be able to fulfill all graduation requirements. Students who require additional credits to graduate may attend summer school or another approved alternative (tutoring, evening classes, etc.)to meet requirements. Under special circumstances, the building principal may waive up to one (I).cr -dit as he deems necessary. Motion seconded by Mr's. Macdonald. VOTE: Unanimous 7.10 2000-2001 School Calendar Motion made by Mrs. Cook to accept the Mashpoe Public School s School Calendar for Zoo -'200 1 as presented. Motion seconded by Mrs. Mills. VOTE: Unanimous 7.11 Summer School The issue was tabled until the next scheduled meeting. 7.12 Early 1elease Dates—June 19, 20, June 11, 2000 The early release dates for elementary students only were considered. It was noted that it is a cost-effective approach to the reorganization process. Motion made by Mr. Paxton to approve the Early Release dates of June 191, 20, 2 1, Zoo as presented. -Motion seconded by Mrs. Macdonald. VOTE: Unanimous 7.13 Ice Hock The minutes of the High School Sub- Committee meeting dated 4/12/000 relative to the discussion of hockey was reviewed. It was determined that due to the newness of the high school's athletic progrram, a policy for the addition of neer sports shall be considered when a program of sports offerings, in line vitt other schools has been established.
