MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE -- REGULAR MEETING - SEPTEMBER 1 , 2000 PAGE <br /> 7.8 Impact Fees - This issue will be discussed t the. <br /> September 20th meeting. Mr. Flery will contact the Town <br /> Administrator to set up a meeting with the Selectmen t <br /> discuss establishing a school reeds committee. <br /> VIII. Specifically 8.1 Memorial Garden (Update) - High School principal Mr. <br /> Assigned/ Brown noted he is waiting for a report from the landscaper <br /> Unfinished Business at this point. <br /> Nov Business 9.1 After reviewing a list included in the "Supplemental <br /> Packet" of the industrial arts equipment (Attachment A), a <br /> motion was made by Mrs. Lynch, seconded by Mrs. Cook, <br /> to declare these items as surplus. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Mrs. Lynch asked to have the School Committee budget <br /> meetings set for placement on the master calendar before <br /> it is ready for printing. This will be discussed at the <br /> September 20th meeting. <br /> Mrs. Mills read correspondence received from <br /> Commissioner David Driscoll in which he stated high <br /> school teacher Kelly Nabil was nominated for ' <br /> consideration for the 2001 Massachusetts Teacher of the <br /> Year Award. <br /> Mrs. Lynch discussed the-results of the Superintendent's <br /> performance for the 1999-2000 school year. After polling <br /> the two previous members, the School Committee, as a <br /> whole, felt Mr. - Fluery's evaluation would be in the <br /> "'Commendable" area., however, the Committee "realizes <br /> that education continues to change and additional <br /> advances must be made. The School Committee feels that <br /> e are currently on a forward motion and look forward t <br /> this trend continuing." The first annual summer retreat <br /> was seem as a positive way to identify school district goals. <br /> Also, special education, computer, and industrial arts <br /> were not a Part ofthe evaluation tool and will be added for <br /> next year. <br /> X. Committee Reports 10.1 Sub-Committee Reports <br /> its <br /> 10.1.1 Negotiations tiations - Mrs. Lynch note that the Unit <br /> printed contract was distributed at the meeting. <br /> 10.1.2 High School- Mrs. Cooly said this committee needs <br /> to set up a meeting. However, increasing the <br /> Grades ' guidance secretary's position to a full- <br /> tirne school year position was mentioned. This will <br /> be discussed further at the September 20 <br /> meeting. <br />
