MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE BUDGET MEETING OCTOBER 17, Zoo Minutes Attendees: i Ce Chairperson Theresa Cook and Kathleen Lynch. Ben Caswell arrived at 6:45 p.m. Chairperson Janice Mills and DonnaJean Lopez were absent this evening. Also in attendance were Superintendent of Schools Sherwood Fluery and Business Administrator Russ McGown. Mrs. Cook called the budget meeting to order at 6:55 p.m. in the Quashnet Library. Motion made by Mrs. Lynch, seconded by Mr. Caswell, to move into executive session at 6:56 p.m. Roll Call Note: In favor - Mrs. Cook, Mr. Caswell, and Mrs. Lynch; opposed - none. The budget meeting reconvened at 7-.IS p-m. Motion made by Mr. Caswell, seconded by Mrs. Lynch, to approve the 2000- 2001 - 2 01 food service contract including the memo from Gerald Jones dated October 16, 2000. VOTE*. Unanimous Mr. F'luery began the FY02 budget session by thanking the principals and directors for their efforts in meeting this afternoon to discuss tonight's capital improvement issues. The "wish list" included the following as "Urgent" items to be placed in the capital improvement discussion items. These items will be discussed further and voted upon at the November 8th regular School Committee meeting. 1. Wheelchair transport vara - system-wide $40,000 2. Parking lot- Coombs school Need Quote 3. AV systems upgrade/upgraded phone system - KCC $25,000 . Front sidewalks and curbing- Quashnet School $251,000 . Student activities van (15 passenger) - Nigh School $30,000 . Stadium field press box- High school $25,000 . Upgrade phone system- Quashnet School $307000 Mr. Fluery mentioned the installation of a sidewalk to the Mashpee Commons from the schools. He will bring to the capital improvement committee for discussion. Discussion on the purchase or leasing of copy machines. This issue will be placed on the November 8thagenda.
