MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE <br /> BUDGET MEETING <br /> OCTOBER 17, Zoo <br /> Minutes <br /> Attendees: i Ce Chairperson Theresa Cook and Kathleen Lynch. Ben Caswell <br /> arrived at 6:45 p.m. Chairperson Janice Mills and DonnaJean Lopez were <br /> absent this evening. Also in attendance were Superintendent of Schools <br /> Sherwood Fluery and Business Administrator Russ McGown. <br /> Mrs. Cook called the budget meeting to order at 6:55 p.m. in the Quashnet <br /> Library. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Lynch, seconded by Mr. Caswell, to move into executive <br /> session at 6:56 p.m. <br /> Roll Call Note: In favor - Mrs. Cook, Mr. Caswell, and Mrs. Lynch; opposed - <br /> none. <br /> The budget meeting reconvened at 7-.IS p-m. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Caswell, seconded by Mrs. Lynch, to approve the 2000- <br /> 2001 <br /> - <br /> 2 01 food service contract including the memo from Gerald Jones dated <br /> October 16, 2000. <br /> VOTE*. Unanimous <br /> Mr. F'luery began the FY02 budget session by thanking the principals and <br /> directors for their efforts in meeting this afternoon to discuss tonight's capital <br /> improvement issues. The "wish list" included the following as "Urgent" items to <br /> be placed in the capital improvement discussion items. These items will be <br /> discussed further and voted upon at the November 8th regular School <br /> Committee meeting. <br /> 1. Wheelchair transport vara - system-wide $40,000 <br /> 2. Parking lot- Coombs school Need Quote <br /> 3. AV systems upgrade/upgraded phone system - KCC $25,000 <br /> . Front sidewalks and curbing- Quashnet School $251,000 <br /> . Student activities van (15 passenger) - Nigh School $30,000 <br /> . Stadium field press box- High school $25,000 <br /> . Upgrade phone system- Quashnet School $307000 <br /> Mr. Fluery mentioned the installation of a sidewalk to the Mashpee Commons <br /> from the schools. He will bring to the capital improvement committee for <br /> discussion. <br /> Discussion on the purchase or leasing of copy machines. This issue will be <br /> placed on the November 8thagenda. <br />
