Minutes of Combined Meeting of VU'-'� <br /> Mashpee Design Review Committee and <br /> Mashpee Plan Review Committee <br /> Held Tuesday, December 20, 2011 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall Meeting Room 1 <br /> Design Review Members Present: Walter Yarosh, Robert Nelson, and David Kooharian. <br /> Plan Review Members Present: <br /> Charlie Maintanis, Local Inspector (late arrival) <br /> Joel Clifford, Fire Inspector <br /> Tom Fudala, Town Planner <br /> Scott Carline, Police Department <br /> Glen Harrington, Health Agent <br /> Catherine Laurent, DPW Director <br /> Tom Fudala called the meeting to order at 9:07 a.m. <br /> 35 Bayshore Drive <br /> Request an Accessory Apartment in the Basement <br /> Jan Morrissey <br /> Scheduled for Board of Appeals_in_JanuarV _ <br /> Jan and David Morrissey appeared. <br /> • Site Plan provided was done before house built. <br /> • E-mail from Rich Morgan with Building Department comments regarding this application was <br /> read into the record. Copy of the e-mail is attached to the printed set of these minutes. <br /> • Size of window for the bedroom has to be 8% of the square footage of the floor area; it has to <br /> be glass; and one-half has to be open since someone has to be able to get out. Base of <br /> bottom of window to floor can't be any more than 22 inches high to be able to climb out. <br /> • Joel Clifford noted that lifesaving devices are not shown on the Plan. Also they have to bring <br /> the house up to current fire code, which requires smoke detectors outside all bedrooms on all <br /> floors. <br /> • Glen Harrington said Board of Health requires septic inspection. He said septic has to,be large <br /> enough for the additional apartment. <br /> • Applicant stated they are on Town water and they have a well for irrigation purposes. <br /> • Living room slider is second egress out of lower level. Tom Fudala asked whether the slider <br /> has outside lock. Applicant said they are thinking of replacing that slider and will replace with <br /> one with a lock. <br /> • Mr. Morrissey said he measured and ceiling height is 7'3". Walter said that's the minimum <br /> allowed. <br /> • Bob Nelson said deck going out of house has to be shown on the Plan. Bob advised that it is <br /> against the law to alter a stamped Plan. Therefore, before going to ZBA the Plan needs to be <br /> revised. <br /> • Driveway is extended as shown on the Plan. <br /> • Bob advised they show house number as 35, rather than 33. <br /> • Tom Fudala asked whether there was a walkway/sidewalk to get around to back of hous`6. <br /> Applicant responded "no", they have bark. <br /> • 2100 is square footage of the house. Accessory apartment cannot be more than 40%. <br />
