S T � <br /> MAS PEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE TOWLI <br /> 4 <br /> SPECIAL MEETING 01 FEB 12 Am 2 <br /> JANUARY 22, 2001 <br /> Minutes <br /> Attendees: Chairperson Janice Mills,, Theresa Cook, I onnaJean Lopez, Ben Caswell, <br /> and Kathleen Lynch. Also in attendance were Superintendent of Schools Sherwood <br /> Fluery and Business Administrator Russ McGown. <br /> Mrs. Mills called the special meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. in the Quashnet School <br /> Library. <br /> Mr. Fluery discussed the school department's Capital Improvement project requests for <br /> FY2 which were as follows: <br /> 1 Coombs School Parking Lot - $ 251)000 <br /> 2 Quashnet School Front wally and Curbing - $ 505000 <br /> 3 Quashnet School Kitchen - $ 32X0 <br /> 4) Wheelchair Transport Van (special ed.) - $ 4000 <br /> 5) System-wide Computer replacements units) - $11 <br /> TOTAL - $2659800 <br /> For discussion purposes, a motion was made by Mrs. Cook, seconded by Mr. Caswell, to <br /> approve the F 02 capital improvement project requests as printed. <br /> Discussion followed on high school computers being transferred to the elementary <br /> schools. <br /> Also Mrs. Cook stressed the need for repairs to the Quashnet School front wally and <br /> curbing due to the school being the voting and ton meeting locations as well as being <br /> the emergency shelter for the tn. <br /> VOTE; Unanimous <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Lynch, seconded by Mrs. Lopez, to increase the F2 school <br /> department budget by $1.3 million. <br /> Auer much discussion on the increasing high school enrollments and new positions, Mrs. <br /> Lynch rescinded her notion for $1.3 million and changed it to $1.4 million. <br /> Mrs. Lopez rescinded her motion for $1.3 million and seconded Mrs. Lynch's notion for <br /> $1.4 million. <br />
