MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE SPECIAL 11EETI APRIL 1 ,2001 Minutes Attendees: Chairperson Janice Mills,Theresa Cook, DonnaJean Lopez,and Ben Caswell. Kathleen Lynch arrived at 6:40 p.m. Also in attendance was Superintendent of Schools Sherwood F lu ry. 1. Meeting Culled to Order - Mrs. Mills called the special meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. in the uashnet School Library. . Transfers—Due to an error made regarding the transfer of funds from one line item to another for the Quashnet School's dishwasher, the motion made at the March 26, 2001 special meeting was rescinded by Mrs. Lopez. The second was rescinded by Mr. Caswell. VOTE: Unanimous A notion was then made by Mrs. Cook, seconded by Mr. Caswell, to approve the transfer of $3,590 from the Quashnet Custodian Salaries account to the Quashnet Equipment Acquisition account. VOTE: Unanimous . High School Vinyl Siding—Motion made by Mr.Caswell,seconded by Mrs. Lopez,to proceed with this project and name Coro Construction, Co.,Inc.as the contractor with a total bid price of $46,940. VOTE: Unanimous 4. Lunch Price Increase—Discussion followed regarding the school lunch program and its financial situation. The Lurch Advisory Committee met this week to discuss an increase in lunch prices. Mr. Flury recommended price increases as follows: Student Lunch—from$1.40 to$1.75;Adult Lunch—from $2.00 to$2.50 Motion made by Mrs. Cook,seconded by Mr. Caswell,to approve the lunch price increases effective May 1,2001 as noted above. VOTE: Unanimous . Cape Cod Collaborative Classroom — ilius. Mills mentioned the Cape Cod Collaborative is in need of classroom space for next school year. The possibility of installing portables will be discussed at the May School Committee meeting. recess was taken at 6:50 p.m. at which time Mrs.Lynch departed the meeting. The meeting reconvened at 6:55 p.m. . Business Administrator Interviews — The first candidate to interview for the Business Administrator position was Michael Perrone. The School Committee interviewed of Mr. Perrone from South Harwich,MA. After the interview,the Committee tools a break at 7:28 p.m. The meeting reconvened at 7:45 p.m.
