MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> JUNE 26, 2001 <br /> Minutes <br /> Attendees: Chairwoman Theresa Cook,, nnaJ n Lopez, and Mollie Reis. Ben Caswell arrived at 6:50 <br /> p.m. Janice Mills was absent this evening. Also in attendance were Superintendent ofSchools Sherwood <br /> Fluery and new Business Administrator Michael Tarlw. <br /> Cali Meeting to Order- Mrs. Cook called the special meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. in the <br /> Quashnet School Library. <br /> 2. Executive Session—Personnel - Motion made by Mrs. Lopez, seconded by Mrs. leis, to move <br /> into executive session at 6:46 p.m. for the purpose of personnel d is ussi on. <br /> 11 Call Vote: In favor—Mrs.Cool, Mrs. Lopez, and Mrs. leis; opposed—none. <br /> The special meeting reconvened at 7:25 p.m. <br /> Budget Transfers — Discussion followed on the proposed FY-01 budget transfers. After giving <br /> his pre sentati on,Mr. McCown, Mrs. Cooly asked questions regarding these transfers. <br /> After further review, a motion was made by Mr. Caswell, seconded by Mrs. Lopez, to approve <br /> the FY01 budget transfers totaling $336,929.42 as listed in the "FYI 1 Financial Report for <br /> Transfer Suggestions"dated.lune 26, 2001. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Mrs. Lopez mentioned the increase in the number of telephone calls made to the school attorney <br /> this year. It was suggested that prior to calling the school attorney regarding issues, they should <br /> be fully investigated first. if there is no resolution to the issue,then Mr.Fluery r Mrs. Cook may <br /> contact the school attorney. If there is an on-going issue in the schools, prior to calling the school <br /> attorney,Tprincipals must inform Mr. Flurry of their intent to telephone the school attorney while <br /> School Committee memb rs�must contact Mrs. Cool. <br /> Also included in the packet was a listing of proposed dates for Mr. Flu r y' 2001-2002 vacation <br /> schedule. After discussion, Mrs. Cool reiterated that, per his current contract, Mr. Fluery must <br /> contact her prior to taking less than two vacation days and he must inform the School Committee <br /> if he intends to tale three or more days. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Caswell, seconded by Mrs. Lopez, that Mr. Flury' 2001-2002 vacation <br /> and conference dates were approved as per the listing dated June 2 , 2001. Fluery must <br /> contact Mrs. Cook regarding any minor-changes to this listing. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> At this point,Mr. Tarlow publicly thanked Mr. McGown for his assistance and support during the <br /> Business Administrator's transition period. <br />
