MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR MEETING—APRIL 3,2002 PAGE 5 <br /> 8.3 Out-of-School Suspensions — Grade 7 showed 12 suspensions while Grade 8 <br /> had none for the month of March. Grade 9 had 11 suspensions; Grade 10,4; Grade 11, <br /> 3;and Grade 12,6. <br /> 8.4 FY03 Budget—This topic was discussed during the workshop held prior to the <br /> regular meeting. It was noted, however, there will be no athletic user fees or supply <br /> fees for next year as previously discussed at a budget meeting. <br /> 8.5 Computer Ed Technology, Grades 7-12 — Patricia Parolski addressed the <br /> Committee on the"Computer Education Technology"curriculum for Grades 7-12. <br /> After Mrs. Parolski's presentation, a motion was made by Mr. Thomas, seconded by <br /> Mrs. Mills,to approve the Computer Ed. Technology,Grades 7-12. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 8.6 Virtual School Opportunities (AP Classes) — Mr. Fluery included information <br /> for virtual high school from the Cape Cod Collaborative and the Florida Virtual School. <br /> Mr. Brown discussed a meeting he recently attended with Mr. Fluery in Harwich <br /> regarding this issue. After discussion, the School Committee acknowledged that this is <br /> an interesting concept and suggested further investigation. <br /> IX. Specifically Assigned/ 9.1 Comm issioning/Decommissioning of Employees—Policy GCHEF-Motion <br /> Unfinished Business made by Mr.Caswell, seconded by Mr.Thomas,to approve the aforementioned policy. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 9.2 2002-2003 School Calendar—Motion made by Mr.Caswell,seconded by Mrs. <br /> Reis,to approve the 2002-2003 School Calendar as printed. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> X. New Business 10.1 Press Box—Discussed earlier in the meeting. <br /> 10.2 Summer School—Lou Ann St.Cyr—Discussed earlier in the meeting. <br /> 10.3 Summer Institute—Michael Forde—Discussed earlier in the meeting. <br /> XI. Committee Reports 11.1 Sub-Committee Reports <br /> 11.1.1 Negotiations—Discussed in executive session. <br /> 11.1.2 High School — Mrs. Cook said there has been no meeting, however, one is <br /> scheduled for April 22,2002. <br /> 11.1.3 Elementary School—Mrs. Mills and Mrs. Reis will attend the meeting slated <br /> for April 5"at 10:00 a.m. <br /> 11.1.4 Curriculum —The Computer Ed Technology curriculum was discussed earlier <br /> in the meeting. Mrs. Parolski said the Science Technology and Engineering <br /> curriculum committee is meeting on May 16'". <br /> 11.1.5 Finance Committee —Mrs. Cook said this sub-committee needs to schedule a <br /> meeting,however,the School Committee finance meeting is set for April 24th. <br /> 0 <br />
