MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR MEETING—MAY 15 2002 PACE <br /> 49 8.4 Out-of-SchoolSuspensions—For the month of April, suspensions in grades 7 <br /> and 8 totaled 7; suspensions in grades 9-12 were 15. <br /> . FY 2 Budget Transfers—Mr.Tarl w presented FY02 budget transfers totaling <br /> as follows: $1 , .91;27, . 1;$6,129.30; $13,302.82. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Thomas, to approve the FY02 budget <br /> transfers as printed. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 8.6 MCAS Performance — Cape Cod Times Article Aril 26, 2002 — Discussed <br /> earlier in the meeting. <br /> Ix. Specifically Assigned/ 9.1 Update of Grade 7 Turn Tea hind--Discussed earlier in the meeting. <br /> Unfinished Business ... <br /> .2 Policy Manual Review — NII-. Brown, in order to fulfill the time required to <br /> complete an Administrative Internship for the Superintendent's Certificate, requested <br /> an opportunity to review, analyze and revise the School Committee's Policy Manual. <br /> Mr.Fluery concurred with Mr. Brown's request. <br /> Mr. Fluery also noted that he will mentor Patricia Parolski during her pursuit of a <br /> Superintendent's Certificate and that Mr. Tarl , who recently received his <br /> Superintendent's Certificate, also received assistance from Mr. Fluery in obtaining this <br /> certificate. <br /> Mrs. Cook stated that in light of Mr. Fluery's resignation the above-mentioned <br /> mentoring for Mr. Brown is in no way an endorsement by the School Committee of Mr. <br /> Brown's candidacy for Superintendent. <br /> X. New Business 10.1 School Choice, 2002-2003 School Year — Motion made by Mrs. Mills, <br /> seconded by Mr. Thomas, for Mashpee not to be a school choice system for the 2002- <br /> 2003 school year. It was suggested that next year the Committee would study the <br /> ramifications to the school system of implementing a school choice program. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 10.2 Fast Da of School—.lune 20, 2002 ,- Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded <br /> by Mrs. Reis, to approve Thursday, June 2 , 2002 as the last day f`school for the <br /> 2001-2002 school year. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 10.3 Date of Graduation Graduation Exercises — Mr. Brown outlined the high <br /> school graduation process that will be followed on June 15,2002. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Thomas, seconded by Mr. Caswell, to accept the graduation <br /> process as printed. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 10.4 High School Science Fair—Discussed earlier in the meeting. <br /> 1 wastewater orresponlnc from Fire Department—Fetter from Chief Baker <br /> dated -Pril 23,2002—Discussed earlier in the meeting. <br /> XI.
