sa { MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 4,, 2002 . 111nuts Attendees: Chairman Janice Mills,Peter Thomas, Ben Caswell, and D nnaJean Lopez. Mollie Reis was absent this evening. Also in attendance were Superintendent of Schools Patricia Par lski and Business Administrator Michael Ta.rlw. I. Call Meeting Mrs. Mills called the regular meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. in the High to Order School Library. II, Executive Session Motion made by Mr. Caswell, seconded by Mr. Thomas,to rove into executive session for the purpose negotiations .t.6:41 p.m. 1� fall vnt In favor — l lis. hill ,Mr. Th �r�as, Mr. Caswell, and Mrs.. Lopez; opposed—none. The regular meeting reconvened at 7:15 p.m. III. Approval ofMinutes 3.1 Regular Meeting.—November 62 2 - Due to lack f quorum t vote on these minutes, the vote will be deferred to the January 2003 regular meeting. Iv. Public Forum Steve Paxton addressed the Committee regarding the high school football issue. He questioned why certain inquiries made to administrators were not answered. He also asked why missing items from the boys; locker morn,although listed in separate claims, would not be reimbursed. Mr. Thomas responded that although the Committee discussed possibly reimbursing the missing itis, there were no receipts that accompanied the claims thus there would be n reimbursement. Mr. Thomas encouraged Mr. Paxton to file a police report and recoup losses through legal channels. V. Acknowledgments 5.1 Sportsmanship Award Letter—Mrs. Mills an o unced that the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association and the Massachusetts State Track Coaches Association awarded the "Ted Dutliewiz Cross Country Team Sportsmanship Award for Outstanding Allegiance to the Ideals of Sportsmanship During the 2002 MIAA Boys and Girls Cross Country Season" to the l rla tepee High School Boys and Girls Cross Country Team. High School Principal Ira Brown congratulated the team along with Coach Brian Hyde as well as Athletic Director Michael Horace for the efforts during the season. VI.
