a • <br /> MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR MEETING—FEBRUARY 5. 2003 PAGE <br /> 11.2 External Reports <br /> 11.2.1 Cape_Cod Collaborative—Mr. Caswell said there was no meeting. <br /> 11.2.2 Leisure Services—Mr. Thomas reported the meeting was cancelled. <br /> 11.2.3 Safe Transl2ortation Task Force — Mr. Caswell said there was n <br /> meeting. <br /> 11.2.4 Affirmative Action Committee — Mrs. Lopez said there was no <br /> meeting,however, one will be held on February 12th. <br /> 11.2.5 Boosters Club — The Boosters meeting was held during the School <br /> Committee's finance meeting last month, therefore, Mr. Thomas and <br /> Mr. Caswell were not able to attend the Boosters meeting. <br /> T rrie Cook said the next meeting will be held on February 13th. Mrs. <br /> Cook also mentioned a fundraiser will be held on February 8h t 7:3 o <br /> p.m. at the Quashnet Valley Country Club to assist a family who <br /> recently lost their Lather. She said the Boosters Club also assists <br /> families in need. <br /> 11.2.6 Indian Education —Mrs. Lopez attended a meeting and said the Tribal <br /> Council will notify her when meetings are scheduled. There will be <br /> parent meeting on February 12''. <br /> 11.2.7 Health Advisory Committee — Mrs. Lopez said there has been no <br /> meeting. <br /> X11. Other Mr. Thomas commented on his support for looking in-house for talent and <br /> employees who work their way up the ranks within the school system. He said, "We have somebody really special here in Mashpee", <br /> referring to Mrs. Parol is 26-year tenure and dedication to the Mashpee <br /> Schools who has worked her way up the ladder. <br /> 0 <br /> Mrs. Lopez echoed Mr. Thomas' opinions stating that Mrs. Parolsli"has done <br /> great job." <br /> Speaking as a Finance Committee member and the FY04 budget constraints <br /> facing the town, Mrs. Cook asked the School Committee to cone up with more <br /> "creative ways"to save money in the upcoming budget. <br />
