MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE FE'9ANCE MEETING NOVEMBER 19, 2003 Minutes Attendees: Chairman Peter Thomas, Theresa Cook, DonnaJ an Lopez, Janice Mills, and Mollie Reis. Also in attendance were Superintendent of Schools Patricia Parolski and Business Office Supervisor Ellen Ferguson. 1. Call Meeting to Order—Mr. Thomas called the finance meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. In the Office of the Superintendent in the Quashnet School. . Executive Session — Motion made by Mrs. Cook, seconded by Mrs. Reis, to more into executive session at 6:31 p.m. for the purpose of personnel and negotiations. Roll Call Vote: In favor— Mr. Thomas, Mrs. Cool, Mrs. Lopez, Mrs. Mills, and Mrs. Reis; opposed—none. The meeting reconvened at 7:07 p.m. . FY04 Budget Upd ate—Mrs. Ferguson updated the Committee on the status of the FY04 Budget. Mrs. Ferguson said the MUN1S payroll training is ongoing with full implementation slated for January 2004. Mrs. Cool emphasized that the recent resignations ofthe former Town Treasurer, the Assistant Town Treasurer, the MIS Administrator and the recent retirement announcement of the Town Accountant will add to the extra work load in the school's business office in order to assist the tern in its MUNIS functions. . CIP Items — Discussion followed on the Capital Improvement Program CIP iterns the school department would like to propose. They included the following* I. School Security 2. Floor Covering(Coombs and Quashnet) Computers 4. wheelchair Van . ICC Pavement . Alterations/Renovations to the high school and Q uashnet School . High School air conditioning . Mini bus . Coes School additional special education areas, i.e., office space, bathroom facilities 10. District-wide central storage facility 11. Maintenance/grounds 12. Replacement of NVAC I, II, and IV in Quashnet School gym, cafeteria and kitchen 13. Replacement of one maintenance truck 1 . School-wide electronic filing system
