I MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR MEE fNG—FEBRUARY , 2004 'AGE Mrs. Paro Iski asked to rte ov e up 10.2 Administration of Ep ine hri ne Policy because the presenters were in the audience. 10.2 Administration of E in hrin licy — Quashnet School Nurse Susan Cowles and Coombs School Nurse Patricia Moran-Nye addressed the Committee on the prevalence of life-threatening food allergies which have increased substantially over the past five years. They outlined a booklet entitled, "Managing Students with Lif -Threatening Allergies." Tonight was the "first react" and will be voted upon at the March meeting. V11I. Report of the 8.1 Personnel—Mrs. P r lski informed the Committee of the following Superintendent personnel issues: Quashnet School.- Thomas Griffin- .8 teacher(replacing A. Purdy) Aphrodite Purdy— 1.0 teacher(replacing K. Stohr Coombs oo .- arah Phillips—Para.prfsinal Resignations,. Susan Peavey— High School Teacher Cara Vose—High School Paraprofessional Joseph AugenbIick—Network Administrator .2 Administrative Rpart — There were no questions from the Committee regarding these reports. 8.3 Enro I I m e nts—Mrs. ParI s k noted the following enrollment figures: Coombs School — 497; Quashnet School — 660; High School — 391 for a district-wide total of 2,148. There are currently 51 Mashpee students attending Cape Cod Tech. 8.4 Out-of-School Sus nsins — Mrs. Farlski noted the following suspensions: Grade 7, ; Grade 8, ; Grade 3, 11, Grade 10, 6; Grade 11, ; and Grade 12, 5. 8.5 2004-2005 High School Program of Studies — Mr. Brown outlined the revisions to next year's High School Program of Studies. After doing Sol, a motion was made by Mrs. Cook, seconded by Mrs. Lopez, to approve the 2004-2005 High School Program of Studies. VOTE: Unanimous .6 504 Hatndbook for Staff-Nan Special Education—Administrator of Special Education Jane Beaudin discussed this document that explains Section 504 which is an anti-discrimination law applicable to students or employees with a disability and are entitled to the same opportunity as without a disability.
