Status of Police Grant—Mrs. Parolski updated the Committee n the proposed School Resource <br /> Officer grant. She thanked Chief Cooper, Deputy Chief Todlno, Lt. Dead, Sgt.I_mina and school <br /> administrators for their efforts in devising this grant. She also thanked the Board of Selectmen <br /> for supporting this grant which would be a three-year grant through the Mashpee Police <br /> Department. The Town of Mashpee would pick up the grant in the fourth year. <br /> 1f approved,the response time will probably be sometimein August. <br /> 1 , other— <br /> Mr. Brown discussed a proposal where lashpe would become a service provider of <br /> lass.Com for the Cape &. Islands and for a home schooling program. He explained the <br /> following: <br /> Presently we pay $225 per seat for Class.Com. with the purchase of 300 seats, this cost <br /> would be reduced t $125 per seat. The cost to Mashpee is $37,500. <br /> Mashp e will need to sign a license agreement for use ofa Website known n as"Blackboard"" <br /> in order to run Class.Com with a high user rate. The cost is 10,000 for 200 students on the <br /> server at one time. <br /> The total cost to provide Class.Com i $47,500 <br /> Mr. Brown explained ow the 1 ashpee School District would pay for being the provider. <br /> In the end,the total estimated i ncom e would be $5 1,400.00. <br /> Mrs. Cook stressed this program would not be adding any teachers but rather rearranging <br /> current employees. <br /> Mrs. Hills requested a copy of the contract and review by Attorney Butler before any <br /> further action. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Lopez, to ask Attorney Butler receive and <br /> review the Class.Com contract. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Mrs. Cook asked the Committee to ponder, prior to the June 2d regular m etin , any <br /> possible conflicts with school activities for neat school year and School Committee regular <br /> and finance meetings. Regular meetings are slated for the first Wednesday of each month <br /> while the finance meetings are scheduled for the third Wednesday of each month. <br />
