H <br /> MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 3, 2004 PAGE 2 <br /> 3.7 Executive Session—October 20, 2004—Motion made by Mr. <br /> Thomas, seconded by Mrs.Mills,to approve the minutes of the executive <br /> session held on October 201, 2004. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> IV. Public Forum Renda Coughlan addressed the Committee regarding the"separation"of <br /> grades from grades 9-12. She said there are common areas in the high <br /> school that are shared by all students of all grades. <br /> After Mrs. Coughlan expressed her concerns regarding the above, Mrs. <br /> Cooly said that "major steps" have been taken to address this issue. High <br /> School Principal Mr. Brown stated these issues have been addressed in the <br /> School Improvement Plan and invited Mrs. Coughlan to attend a high school <br /> sub-committee meeting. Mr. Brown will contact Mrs. Coughlan with <br /> meeting information. <br /> Beeby Romkey expressed her concerns regarding MCAS tests and Coombs <br /> School Grade 3 scores. She questioned if there might be a possibility of <br /> moving preschool out of the Coombs School and move Grade 3 to Coombs. <br /> V. Acknowledgments 5.1 Letter from Diehard G. Talmage dated October 1 2004--Steve <br /> Davis --Mrs. Cook read aloud a letter from cinematographer Diehard <br /> Talmage who worked with audio-visual student Steve Davis this summer. <br /> Mr. Talmage commended Mr.Davis for his improved video skills. i <br /> VI. Communications There were n "'communications"'this evening. <br /> VII. Student Advisory Student Advisory Council representative lira Crosby reported that seniors <br /> Council are gating their college applications together while various colleges are <br /> visiting the high school. Also, four teams — Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, <br /> Field Hockey and Golf — are in the state competitions; the "Oscar film <br /> Festival"will be held on November ember 1h and the "Mock Election was held on <br /> 1 <br /> October 2h. <br /> V1II.
