Mills, for <br /> brief presentation on the Cape Light Compact Green. representatives who were in <br /> attendance to discuss the brochure which was handed out to the School Conunittee <br /> members on Solarize our Schools. <br /> 5.1 Ca e L ht +ion act Gxeen — Solarize Our Schools — 'Debbie Fitton and a <br /> representative from Cape Light Compact Frere in attendance and gave a brief <br /> presentation on a brochure given to the School-Cottee Members on what it- <br /> means to volae our Schools. They discussed haw schools can work with the <br /> Compact to earn grant funded solar energy equipment for the element schools. <br /> The Massachusetts Technology Collaborative-(MTC) is encouraging customers to <br /> enroll in the Cape Light Compact Gree n- in such a way that could help community <br /> schools benefit from a signifiant renewable energy grant to the town.. MTC wii <br /> match up to % of ni consumer's payment for Cape fight Compact Green b <br /> providing a renewable energy grant to that consumer"s town_ Three percent or <br /> more of the tom's occupied household accounts must be signed up by December <br /> 2005 and remain with the Cape Light Compact Green through March of 2006, to <br /> receive the funds. Essentially 158 residential households or businesses in the <br /> town are needed to sign up by the end of December in oid er to obtain the benefits <br /> of this program. It was suggested that brochures be sent home with the children <br /> so parents pax hopefully support and enroll this program. <br /> v1E Communications = <br /> Mrs. Mills read a than you letter from Patricia Parolsld thanking the present and past <br /> School Comrrfttee members for -her twenty eight year career in the town and the many <br /> wonderH wishes and gids that she received on her retirement. Mlls Mated that <br /> Mrs. Parolski is surely missed but also extended a welcome to the new Superintendent of <br /> Schools, Ann Bradshaw. <br /> VIL Student Advisory Council <br /> r <br /> The Student Advisory Council representative Laura Galvin was unable to be in <br /> attendance for this meeting as the captain of the Field Hockey 'dean she had her first <br /> scnmmage game. Mrs. Bradshaw highlighted some of Laura's report regarding the first <br /> day of school, paring at the school, first Newspaper class edition being available, Senior <br /> Class project, possibly the Sports team on game days being able to drink water for good <br /> hydration, the great atmosphere at the school and a positive outlook for the coming year. <br /> VIU.
