MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE <br /> FINANCE E MMITTEE <br /> NOVEMBER 16, 2005 <br /> Minutes <br /> Attendees: Chairman Janice Mills, Peter Thomas, Rollie Reis, 1 IaryRose Grad', and Becky Romkey. <br /> Also in attendance were Superintendent of Schools Ann Bradshaw and Business Administrator Peter <br /> Roche. <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order — Mrs.. Mills called the finance meeting to order at 6:37 p.m. in the <br /> Quashnet School Library. <br /> . Business Administrator's Report — Mr. Roche introduced Chuck Gasioar, the Finance <br /> Committee liaison to the School Committee. <br /> Mr. Roche reported the Following: <br /> I there remains a software/data problem on loth the budget summary and detail reports. <br /> Although 'a figure of $987,251.77 is reflected in the "Transfers/Adjustments"-column, <br /> this total should read zero. <br /> 2) fuel adjustment costs and additional special education tuition costs will be incurred over <br /> the fiscal year. <br /> 3) Special education transportation salaries,vehicle repairs,and Fuel are now projected to be <br /> much higher than budgeted. Nor. Roche will monitor and advise. . <br /> .1 FY06 Budget Transfer — Motion made by Nor. Thomas, seconded by Mrs. Grady, to <br /> approve FY 06 budget transfer 90-0 6-2 in the amount of$49,000.00(See Exhibit A). <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> . Status of Grants, Revolving Accounts and Lunch Program — Mr. Roche reported there are <br /> three new grants — Safe Environments, Project Success, and School to Career; the Revolving <br /> Accounts are "looping good"; the lunch program reflected n ending balance of $196,187-48. <br /> Discussion followed on possible purchases with these funds. <br /> . Capital Improvement Plan — Mr. Roche discussed the FY07 Capital Improvement Program <br /> requests totaling $455,000. The FY07 school department requests in no order ofpriority)were: <br /> Technology Infrastructure Phase lI + III, $75,0000; ICC & Quashnet Flooring Phase II, <br /> $150,000; Maintenance vehicle, $40,000; Quashnet HVAC Phase II, $65,000; System wide <br /> Security Phase II, $60,000; K C Bathrooms, $40,000; High School Air Conditioning, $25,000. <br /> Mr. Roche will forward these requests to the Capital Improvement Committee this week. <br /> Mrs. Grady mentioned the Coombs School bathrooms issue noting a possible code violation in <br /> the number of toilets per number of staff. Mr. Tripp responded saying at the bine the Coombs <br /> Scboof was built(1988),the ratio was per code requirements. <br />
