MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> MAY 3, 2006 <br /> Minutes <br /> Attendees: Chairman Janice Mills,, Peter Thomas, MaryRose Grady, Kathy Lynch, and Becky Romk y. <br /> Also in attendance were Superintendent of Schools Ann Bradshaw and School Business Administrator Peter <br /> Roche. <br /> I. Call Meting Mrs. Mills called the regular meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. in the Quashnet <br /> to Order School Library. <br /> II. Executive Session Motion made by Mrs. Lynch, seconded by Mr. Thomas,to move into <br /> executive session for the purpose of personnel and negotiations at 6:41 p.m. <br /> Roll Call vote: In favor—Mrs. Mills, Mr. Thomas, Mrs. Grady, Mrs. <br /> Lynch, and Mrs. Romk y; opposed—none. <br /> The regular meeting reconvened at 7:08 p.m. <br /> Mrs. Mills moved up the following agenda topics due to audience <br /> participation: <br /> 11.1.2 Hiah School — F1 LA — Business teacher Mrs. Riley introduced <br /> three students who traveled with the F LA group to New York and gave a <br /> slide how of their trip during March - , They were Krista 1 a.stroianni, <br /> Laura Galvin, and Chris Farrah. <br /> .2 High School Athletic Handbook Revisions — lair. Thomas made a <br /> motion to accept the change to the athletic handbook regarding <br /> "suspensions" wherein it states, "Any student that is suspended In School <br /> (ISS) will be able to participate in any athletic event that day." His motion <br /> was seconded by Mrs. Lynch. After discussion regarding this policy with <br /> Mr. Brown, Mr. Thomas rescinded his above motion and restated the <br /> following motion: to accept the revision that"Any student that is suspended <br /> 'In School (ISS)will not be able to participate in any athletic event that day."" <br /> Mr. Thomas' motion was seconded by Mrs. Grady. <br /> VOTE: In favor—Mrs. Mills, Mr, Thomas, Mrs. Grady, and Mrs. Romkey; <br /> opposed—Mrs. Lynch. <br /> vli, Student Advisory Student Advisory Council representative Laura Galvin reported the <br /> Council following April/May happenings: Senior Exhibits on April 25th; AP exams <br /> this week or next week; Jr./Sr. Prom set for May 12'4; report cards <br /> distributed on April 25h; Joh Fair held on April 27'h for upper clansmen; <br /> Ivey Club is planning a relay for life to raise money for cancer; Prom and <br /> Graduation committees have been meeting and making gnat progress; <br /> FBLA has been holding a pull tabs contest to gine to the Ronald McDonald <br /> Charity house; Senior Scholarship Dight is May 11'h. <br />
