w <br /> i <br /> MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR MEETING JUNE 7,3 2006 PACE <br /> V. Public Forum Terrie Cook spoke as a member of the Board of Selectmen hen reminding <br /> the school department that encumbrances are to be in place for the end-of- <br /> the-year closeout by June 30, 2006. Also, she mentioned that with the <br /> passage ofthe Education Reform Act of 1993 representatives from the <br /> Selectmen and Finance Committee are to participate in school negotiations <br /> discussions. <br /> As a community member, Mrs. Cook expressed concern regarding not being <br /> notified of the curriculum revision committee meetings held this year. Each <br /> year a letter is sent hone to inquire if parents community members would <br /> like to serve on the curriculum revision committee (s). This year a letter did <br /> not go out. Mrs. Bradshaw said that will be corrected for next year. <br /> Ed Hanrahan, speaking on behalf ofthe Boosters Club, presented a proposal <br /> to construct a permanent concession stand at the Mashpee High School <br /> field. He said this project would, hopefully, be completed by September <br /> 2006. Mr. Thomas supported this effort as the current portable concession <br /> stand is old and in need of repair. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Romkey, to support the <br /> Boosters Club for the construction of a permanent concession stand. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> IX. Parent/Teacher Liz Hendricks, President of the Coombs School PTO, said she will remain <br /> Organization in that role for one more year. She outlined the accomplishments made <br /> during the past school year including the completion of the Coombs School <br /> sign; universal swing still needs to be worked on (approximately $4,000); <br /> the Motorcycle Raffle winner was from Rhode Island; and the Casino Night <br /> and Fashion Show were both successes. Mrs. Hendricks said she hopes to <br /> work closer with the teachers next year as well as improving the math <br /> enrichment program. <br /> IV. Approval of Minutes 4.1 Regular Meeting y 3, 2006 - Motion made by Mrs. Romkey, <br /> seconded by Mr. McNamara, to approve the minutes of the regular meeting <br /> held on May 3, 2006. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> .2 Executive Session — May 3, 2006 — Motion made by Mrs. Mills, <br /> seconded by lir.
