He said out of a total budget of <br /> $17,794,293 all but $51,339 was spent. This balance was reflected ill <br /> $21,336 in salaries and $30,003 in expenses and represents a total <br /> expenditure of 99.7 percent of the original appropriation. Mr. Brown <br /> commended Administrative Assistant for Payroll and Personnel Ellen <br /> Calhoun, Administrative Assistant for Accounts Payable Darlene Phelan, <br /> and Business Office Assistant Jodi Gallagher for their efforts in closiltg OUt <br /> the FY06 F06budget, He also thanked Paul FLink, a financial consultant who <br /> assisted in closing out the FY06 budget. <br /> 8.5 Budget '07 -- Mr. Brown said 9.8% of this budget has been spent so <br /> far with areas of concern being utilities and transportation. He explained the <br /> increase with transportation being the placement ofescalating fuel costs to <br /> run between $17,000-$27,000. Mr. Frown said he mould be vigilant ill <br /> keeping an eye on these areas. <br /> Mr. Brown also explained the meed to hire additional custodial stat.T. He <br /> explained the food service revolving account could possibly share in the <br /> funding of this position in that time is spent washing the floors, cleaning the <br /> cafeteria(s) every clay and waxing the cafeteria floor when needed). <br /> 8.6 Bus Transportation — Mr. Brown updated the Committee on the br1 <br /> transportation situation.. He attended a meeting this week with <br /> representatives from Braga Transportation, principals, assistant principal, <br /> houses rasters, and bus drivers. He said ,Braga Transportation will eontinUe <br /> to house their vehicles on Route 130 in Sandwich this year, all bLISSCS will <br /> have "1 lashpee"' printed on them as well as numbers that signify the I-OLItes, <br /> each bus route was examined and appropriate changes were made based oil <br /> input. Mr. Brown will -mail the routes to the "Mashpee Enterprise" and <br /> the "Gape Cod Times" for publication on Friday, September I". Routes will <br /> also be placed on the M.ashpee schools' web site. Also, a Connect-Ed <br /> message to parents notifying there that the routes will be placed on the web <br /> page will be done. Mr. Thomas asked Mr. Brown to include him in the <br /> upcoming bus meetings. <br /> Mrs. Mills asked the status of Bus radio. Mr. Brown said they arc ready to <br /> o starting with the First day of school, September 5th. <br /> 8.7 Solarize Our Schools/Energy Ed — Mrs. Bradshaw said ``solar <br /> panels" have been placed on the roof of the high school to be used as <br /> learning tools in science class this school year. <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw said the Energy Education prograin will be launched this <br /> year in all schools. <br />
