MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMIT 1 E <br /> FfNANCE MEETING <br /> JANUARY I7, 2007 <br /> Minutes ' <br /> Attendees: Chairman MaryRose Grady, Peter Thomas, Becky Roml ey, Bill McNamara, and Janice <br /> Mills. Also in attendance were Superintendent of Schools Ann Bradshaw and School Business <br /> Administrator Ira Brown. <br /> 1. Ca]I Meetin to order—M rs. Grady called the finance meeting to order at :3 5 p.m. in the <br /> Quashnet School Library. <br /> II. Business Administrator's Report — Mr. Brown updated the Committee on the status of the <br /> FY07 budget. He said 53.6 percent has been expended thus far. Also in his report, Mr. Brown <br /> said he met with Town Manager Joyce Mason and Selectman Theresa Gook to discuss <br /> clarification regarding the Town Charter's by-law procedure for the purchase of vehicles. Mrs. <br /> Mason said there must be an emergency situation in order for a department to purchase a vehicle <br /> outside of the Capital Improvement Program. A "emergency" i defined as a student not having <br /> transportation. Therefore, Mr. Brown included in the palet a second proposal that would avoid <br /> transportation costs. <br /> .1 Status of Grants, Revolving Accounts and Lunch,Proms — Mr. Brown updated the <br /> Committee on the grants and revolving accounts. Also, lunch sales for the month of <br /> December 2006 ($42,580.20) were comparable to those of December 2005 ($45,507.90). <br /> 2.2 FY07 Budget Transfers— Mr. Brown explained the following two FY07 budget transfers. <br /> Please see Exhibit A for detail. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Thomas, seconded by Mrs. Bills, to approve budget transfer 4 1-1 1- <br /> 07- 1 in the amount of 10,000.00. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Rom y, seconded by Mr. McNamara, to approve budget transfer <br /> 41-11-07-02 in the amount of$5,532.50. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 2.3 wastewater Treatment -- Mr. Brown outlined the policy sub-committee meeting held <br /> where the wastewater treatment plant was discussed. There were two options <br /> investigated. One, was replacing the wastewater treatment plant with a septic system; the <br /> other, involved tying into the Mashpee Commons wastewater treatment system. <br /> After discussion, Mrs. Grady suggested investing fees to conduct a feasibility study. <br /> 2.4 CIF Update — Mr. Brown discussed a meeting held on January 9th by the CII' sub- <br /> committee. <br /> ub- <br /> c mmitt .
