9.3 Enrollments- The current student enrollments are 464 at <br /> Coombs, 540 at Quashnet, and 914 at the high school. <br /> 9.4 Suspensions-Mrs. Bradshaw reviewed the suspension <br /> report. <br /> 9.5 Monthly Calendar-Mrs. Bradshaw reviewed the <br /> monthly calendar. <br /> XII. MHS Guidance <br /> Initiatives Lindsey Kett spoke about the Guidance Department <br /> Head position. She is focusing on early action and future <br /> planning including the PSAT's. <br /> XIII. Challenge Day Mrs. Bradshaw discussed the Challenge Day program on <br /> December er 10th, 11th and 12th. Three hundred students <br /> will participate this year. <br /> There was discussion that only some students are <br /> participating. Mrs. St. Cyr explained the goal was to have <br /> all students participate during their high school career. <br /> There was discussion regarding the budget and changes in <br /> the layout of the administration offices at the high school. <br /> XV. Social Workers <br /> In the Schools Mrs. Thomas and Sarah Morrey spore about the evaluation <br /> from the 'walker school, Which stressed a need for <br /> therapeutic component. Mrs. Thomas recommended the <br /> addition of an adjustment counselor at the Quashnet <br /> School. I rs.Thomas suggested replacing 1 teaching <br /> position in the SSC program with an adjustment counselor <br /> position. There was discussion about this. Mr. Bailey <br /> suggested that the model could be tried to see how it would <br /> ori . <br /> Mr. Bailey made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Stanley to <br /> accept the proposal to change the existing teaching position <br /> into a school adjustment counselor position dedicated to the <br /> SSC program as long as there is no additional cost for the <br /> rest of the fiscal year. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> School Committee Regular Meeting 11/14/07 <br />
