MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE <br /> BUDGET SUB-COMMITTEE <br /> December er , 2007 <br /> Minutes <br /> Attendees: MaryRose Grady, Ralph Marcelli, Rich Bailey, Patricia Lugo, T rrie Cook, <br /> and Chuck Gasi r. <br /> Mrs. Grady called the meeting to order at 9:10 a.m. in the Superintendent's Office. <br /> Mr. Gash discussed the tax rate for the town this year. He discussed that there is less <br /> money for increases this year and that every $.01 increase in the tax rate equals a $50,000 <br /> increase in revenue to the town. <br /> There was discussion on past budget processes. <br /> There was discussion about chapter 70 funding and formulas. <br /> Ms. Lugo discussed the Budget Surr Mary Report. She discussed the salary lure items. <br /> Mrs. Grady stated that since the -curricular items have been negotiated they should <br /> reflect a % increase. <br /> There was discussion about salary increases and about substitute pay. <br /> Ms. Lugo explained that the item on the budget summary entitled 'other contractual <br /> obligations' includes retirement it ms, such as buybacks. <br /> Mrs. Grady suggested that out-of-district tuitions should reflect the actual amounts and <br /> this should not be left-level funded as we have the actual amounts. <br /> There was also discussion about the t ansp rtati n� contract and the fuel adjustment. <br /> There was discussion about looking into the Collaborative for transportation. A decision <br /> was made to put in the higher rollover amount for transportation and to include the <br /> adjustment for fuel. <br /> There was discussion to leave the utilities as level-funded, since the Town Manager will <br /> make a town-wide adjustr ent for increases. <br /> There was discussion to put the front page of the budget summary into Munis for <br /> presentation to the town. <br /> There was discussion about Medicaid reimbursement and having the town reimburse this <br /> expense. <br />
