_ tk <br /> MASIPEE HUMAN SERVICES CONMTTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> OCTOBER 17, 2007 <br /> Present: Mary Scanlan, Louise Patrick, John Cahalane, Ronnie warden, Kevin Terrill, Gus <br /> Fredericks, Cynthia Green, Carol Mills, Jim Dong. <br /> The meeting opened at :10 p.m. <br /> The Minutes of September 19, 2007 were approved unaffl*mously. <br /> Louise reported that the Human Services funding proposals have not been conu*ng in from the <br /> Human Service agencies we contract with. <br /> Louise presented her monthly report. <br /> An award was given to MHS from the Unitarian Church;Louise accepted on behalf of the <br /> department. <br /> Carol lulls discussed a possible agreement for one-half rental space by the Family Continuity <br /> Group with 1 lashpee Hunan Services. Louise will tally to Joyce before working out any <br /> agreements. <br /> discussion occurred about the possibility of a Mahpee Service Center with a food pantry, <br /> one-stop shopping, in addition to the St. Vincent dePaul operation. Presently, many Ma hpee <br /> families go to the Falmouth Service Center to meet their needs. <br /> Louise, as representative for Human Rights, will work with the 6hgrade teacher Mrs. Terrill'on <br /> special school project. <br /> The Thanks-for-Giving Award received the following nominations: Roche Bros. and Capers <br /> were nominated. <br /> We will ask the 1lashpee Enterprise to publish an article asking for nominations. <br /> June Hendricks, King 1 edeiros, Officer Lisa (schools), Rosario Gomez, Bobbi Hendricks, Ruth <br /> Provost (Boys and Girls Club) were also nominated. <br /> The suggestion to have a meeting at Norma Ku 's house to discuss the vision of the MES <br /> Committee has been postponed to a future date. <br /> Mary Scanlan will write Beth Johnson about her decision to continue or resign from the <br /> Committee. <br /> Jinn Long recommended that the Committee send a letter to the Barnstable County <br /> Commissioners supporting the current form and function of the Human Services Department. <br />
