Mrs. Bradshaw informed the Committee that a request has been made to create an <br /> Interact Club at the high school and to fund an advisor for the club. The Rotary <br /> Club will fund the stipend for the advisor, and it will be pro-rated for this year. <br /> Mrs. Stanley made a motion, seconded by Mr. Marcelli to approve an advisor for <br /> the Interact Club for Mashpee High School. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> XI1. Waste Water Treatment Facility <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw informed the Committee that there are two options. The first is to <br /> comply with the new permit. The second is to continue to explore the re- <br /> delineation of Zonae II. She explained that bid invitations were seat out to other <br /> companies and the only bid received back was from Earth Tech for $7950.00. <br /> Mr. Marcelli made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Stanley to continue with Earth <br /> Tech for the re-delineation of the Zone II. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> XIII. MHS NCLB <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw gave a PowerPoint presentation. She explained that AYP is the <br /> adequate yearly progress mandated by the leo Child Deft Behind. The goal is to <br /> be reached by 2014. All children must be proficient in ELA and lath by 2014. <br /> Each state sets a benchmark. An accountability status is received after <br /> consecutive years of not making AYP. <br /> Our District AYP Data for 2007 is as follows: <br /> LA- no status <br /> 0 Math- no status <br /> AYP was not mach in mathematics in the six through eight grade span. We did <br /> not male AYP in the aggregate and for subgroups. <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw explained that the plan for restructuring includes: <br /> School Committee approval <br /> 0 Contractual agreements <br /> • Discussion with staff and parents <br /> The next steps will include the following: <br /> • A process for plan development <br /> • Including School Council <br /> • Including parents and teachers <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw stated that she Felt we have the people we need; we just need to <br /> make some changes and stay the course. Improvement is being made. <br /> There was discussion about this. <br /> There was discussion about the 7th and 8th grade team and 7th and 8th grade <br /> meetings vs. department area meetings. <br /> School Committee Regular Meeting 01/02/0 <br />
