SCHOOL COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING 4/2/08 Minutes Attendees: Chairman Mar l ose Grady, Kathy Stanle'y, Janice Mills, and Richard Bail. Mir. Mareelli was absent this evening. Also in attendance were Superintendent Ann Bradshaw, and Business Administrator Patricia Lugo. I. Call Meeting to Order Mrs. Grader called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. in the Quashnet School library. II. Executive Session Mrs. Bills made a motion, seconded by Mr. Bailey, to go into executive session for the purpose oflitigation, negotiations, and personnel at 6:33 p.m. The meeting reconvened at 7:15 p.m. III. Public Forum Suzanne Avtges spoke about the development of the 2008-2009 school budget. She expressed disappointment about the budget process. She asked the Committee for a copy of the 2008-2009 proposed budget, reminded the committee that elimination of positions are subject to bargaining, and requested a meeting between the association and the school committee to discuss the budget. .IV. Approval of Minutes Mr. Bailey made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Grady, to approve the Restructure ture sub- ommittee minutes of 2/28/08, as amended. Vote- In favor- Mrs. Grady and Mr. Bailer; abstained- Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Mills. Mr. Bailey made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Grader, to approve the Regular meeting minutes of3/5/08. Vote: 1n favor- Mgrs. Grady, Mrs. Stanley, and Mr. Bailey; abstained-Mrs. Mills. V,. K-Kids Presentation Kylie Moses, president of the Kids Club, spore about the club. Students Ashley Welch, Hayden Kilpatrick,, and Jackson Snider spoke about some of the club's activities including the Forget-Me-Not Gardening Project, 1 SCA donation, carwash to benefit Angels Hope, and volunteering for the November er electron.
