Mrs, Thomas stated that the SEPAC staff contacts are as follows: <br /> Karen Paradis <br /> Leah Alberti <br /> Peter Shea <br /> Mrs. Thomas discussed the autism program. She is requesting one additional special <br /> education teacher instead of a paraprofessional position. <br /> There was discussion about the autism program. Mrs. Perry, a parent, spore in favor of <br /> the autism program at the Coombs School. It was determined that the in-house autism <br /> program is not for students who are harmful to themselves or others. <br /> Mrs. Thomas discussed the possibility of a $12,000 cut in ars existing special education <br /> grant. <br /> Mrs. Thomas discussed Project Teammate. This is ars opportunity for juniors and seniors <br /> to participate in a peer mentor program. Ms. Cynthia Prapas has worked with a couple of <br /> students in this endeavor. Mrs. Thomas would lire to expand the program. <br /> There was more discussion about this program. Mrs. Mills stated that she had some <br /> issues with this program as to the role of paraprofessionals and adult volunteers, and <br /> confidentiality issues. She also suggested scheduling these activities outside of the <br /> school day. <br /> Mrs. Thomas requested to bring back more information on this program at a later date. <br /> Xv1I11 Specifically Unassigned/Unfinished Business <br /> 18.1 .follow up on Kitchen Door- Mrs. Bradshaw informed the Committee that there <br /> are now peepholes in both the Quashnet and High School back doors. <br /> 18.2 Phone systems- As previously discussed, Mr. Moroney i s looking into switching the <br /> entire town to one system. <br /> 18.3 Course Progression in Mathematics- Mrs. Bradshaw reviewed the information <br /> provided by Mr. Fiegel about the course progression in mathematics. <br /> 18.4 Graduation for PM,students- Mrs. Bradshaw reviewed that PM students are eligible <br /> for regular graduation, but many choose to graduate earlier, upon completion of their <br /> courses. <br /> XIX. New Business <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw stated that graduation would be inside due-to the cicadas. <br /> Regular Meeting 61410$ <br />
